Why My Clinic Hours Have Been Changing Lately

A few patients have recently asked why my clinic schedule keeps changing, and some have joked, "The doctor works so hard normally. Off having fun somewhere?" Well, if so, that's well deserved too.

Thank you all for the concern. The clinic changes recently have mainly been due to a series of international exchanges, site visits, and academic talks.

A few days ago I attended the JSSR 2026 annual meeting, where my research received the conference's English Presentation Award. The topic compared traditional posterior minimally invasive fusion with lateral lumbar interbody fusion. The results showed that for patients with osteoporosis or of older age, lateral lumbar interbody fusion has a clear advantage in blood loss control and early recovery.

This isn't just an academic finding. It reflects experience built up across a large volume of clinical cases. Presenting research abroad matters, but what matters even more is what comes from the exchange and discussion itself: seeing different approaches that help me make better decisions in clinic and in the operating room.
